Wedding Bridal Makeup Tutorial
August 24, 2016
A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of being a bridesmaid in my friend, Catherine’s, wedding! It was my first time being a bridesmaid and I had an absolutely phenomenal time. I created this little tutorial for the other bridesmaids to use while they did their own makeup on the big day, but I didn’t get it posted in time! Hah. So very helpful.
The Summer Edit
July 8, 2016
I’m so thrilled to finally be able to rock summer outfits! LOL JK, the weather in SF is colder this month than it was in February and I actually wore TWO jackets to work yesterday. So until San Francisco decides to make up its mind on the weather, I’ll be dreaming of sunnier skies and updating my wardrobe with these five summer trends to try!
The biggest sunglass trend this summer is, of course, mirrored lenses. Combine reflective lenses with a rose gold tint and I. can’t. get. enough! I picked up a pair at H&M recently that I’m so enamored with, but this flat-lens pair from Ray Ban is to die for.
I’ve been loving these cute little slogan tees from Whistles and I can’t wait to add one to my summer wardrobe! It’ll look so fresh tucked into a high-waisted button up denim skirt for a casual afternoon date.
Off-the-shoulder Bardot tops like this one from Topshop are beyond adorable. I’d happily wear one every day this summer with a pair of shredded cutoffs and sandals! You’ll be seeing me in this outfit a lot this summer. ;)
You really can’t go wrong with sheer, peek-a-boo fabric for any occasion this summer! You can dress it down with just a simple tank top underneath, or take it up a notch with a bold color or pattern and a high-waisted skirt for a night out on the town with the girls! I really love this one from ASOS (on sale!). It’s a fashion staple that’s here to stay this summer.
Ummm, how cute is this sporty, retro one-piece from Private Party?! I love the Baywatch vibes and I can’t wait for warmer weather to segue into lazy days spent by the pool or at the beach.
What are some trends you’re excited to try this summer?
June Favorites
July 6, 2016
Half the year has already come and gone and I thought it was high time to put together a monthly favorites video! I’ve really been focusing my energy on skincare this past month and the results are paying off. A gentle cleanser that smells like roses, a special cucumber toner, and an organic sunscreen are coming out on top this month, rounded out by some of my other favorite beauty and haircare bits. Enjoy my June favorites and stay tuned for more to come!

Refreshing Minty Limeade!
June 27, 2016
The taste of limeade takes me back to my childhood. I’m reminded of hot and sticky days when my mom used to make huge pitchers for us and we’d drink it outside in the shade during the Maine summertime, the condensation droplets creating rivulets of sweat as we fished out the occasional black fly from our glasses. It was the epitome of summer.
I recently recreated those memories by mixing up a batch of my own, infused with a little fresh mint. I love the idea of always having a big jug of something cold + tasty to drink in the fridge during the summer, so what better way to kick it off than with the ultimate summertime drink? This refreshing minty limeade comes together quickly and the flavors meld together the longer it rests. Recipe below!
Ingredients
- 12 limes
- Simple syrup (1 cup sugar + 1 cup water)
- Fresh mint leaves
- Filtered water
Instructions
- Start by rolling each lime on a hard surface with the heel of your hand for 30 seconds. This releases the juices inside and makes them easier to squeeze.
- Slice 10 limes in half and juice. You can use an electric juicer for this process – I don't own one so I juiced my limes by hand.
- Finely chop 6-7 fresh mint leaves. Make sure they are chopped very fine, as larger pieces may clog the spout of the pitcher.
- Combine the lime juice and chopped mint leaves in a small bowl and muddle. Allow the flavors to meld as you create your simple syrup.
- Combine the cup of water and the cup of sugar in a pan and stir over medium heat until sugar has completely dissolved.
- Fill the pitcher 3/4 of the way with filtered water and add the simple syrup and lime juice with mint. Stir to combine.
- Finish off the drink by thinly slicing the remaining 2 limes and stirring into the pitcher.
- Enjoy!

Summer Lookbook
June 22, 2016
In honor of the third official day of summer, I’m busting out my favorite looks for summer in this brand new Summer Lookbook video! Even though it doesn’t get scorching in SF, out in the East Bay it’s been heating up. I’m excited to peel off the layers, put away the jackets, sweaters, and scarves, and unearth my summer clothes at last! One of my favorite things to do is mix pieces from summers past with some new threads.
Featuring an off-the-shoulder top paired with flare jeans that somehow seem retro and current at the same time, a blush eyelet dress with some unexpected kicks, and a denim-on-denim outfit that gives a wink to another decade. Here’s to many lazy summer days and nights to come!
