No girls’ vacation in the Bay Area would be complete without a weekend trip up to Napa! Meghan and I ventured up there a few weeks ago for some much-needed R&R. Aside from the fact that we were staying in what was obviously a couples’ romantic spa retreat (LOL), we had an amazing time floating around the natural hot springs pool, catching some rays, and waking up extra early for a morning bike ride.
The highlight of our trip was our jaunt up to HALL Winery, where we took a tour of the vineyard and tasted some of their best wines. My favorite was the Ellie’s Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, it has aromas of black currant preserves, violet pastil, savory crushed sage, and an oak influenced note of crème brulee. On the palate the wine is vibrant and dense with extra silky tannins enhanced by the incorporation of Merlot in the blend. After the informative tasting, I feel like a true wine expert!
After the tour, Meghan and I wandered around the vineyard and snapped a few photos. There’s also a cute little vlog about our trip to Napa down below (purple teeth and all), so don’t miss it!
