After making the big move across the country to San Francisco almost three years ago, I’m frequently asked what I like most about living in here. San Francisco is a fabulous city, with tons of amazing things to do and see. The culture here is vibrant and the energy effervescent. However, whenever people ask about my favorite aspect about SF, my first answer is always a bit surprising. Can you guess?
There is very little in this life that’s more important to me than sleep, and I would sacrifice most things for a tight 8 hours. There’s just something about luxuriating in bed that feels so unbelievably indulgent to me. In the morning, I stay in bed until the last possible minute, giving myself juuuust enough time to take a quick shower, brush my teeth, and give my hair a quick zhuzz with some dry shampoo. At night, I’m rarely in bed past 10:30 PM. I’m a light sleeper and sensitive to light and noise, so I’ve picked up my fair share of tricks over the years to optimize my sleep time and prevent tossing and turning.
Happy Valentine’s Day! I’ve been having a lot of fun putting together these little vlogs the past few weeks (if you haven’t noticed, haha!). Since we both had the day off yesterday, my valentine and I swapped gifts and stayed in for a cozy breakfast, ventured out for an afternoon movie, did some shopping, and ended the day with deep-dish pizza. I’m sure I don’t say this enough but if you ever see beautiful photos or videos on this blog, it is because of this man! He is always a good sport and sometimes even lets me film him with the camera once in a while ;).

Happy Monday! This weekend seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, but I had so much fun hanging with my girl, Mel, and venturing into SF! We stopped by our girl Aimee‘s event and sipped mimosas while getting our nails done. It was such a nice treat and it was so great to meet some other fellow SF bloggers. The event was sponsored by Yes To, a brand that I’ve used and loved for years. We took home some goodies, including some products for our guys. When I got home, I told Sawyer that I brought him back some swag from the event and he said, “Can I eat it?”. LOL! Honestly, you probably could, but I don’t think it would taste very good!

Merry Christmas from Maine! I don’t know how the holiday crept up on us so fast, but it’s happening! We’re spending the holiday back home with our families. I’m finishing the last of the wrapping and listening to Christmas music on repeat. There are about 5 million Christmas-y things I want to do before it’s over, so I better get a move on and try to enjoy these last few days of December here in Maine!
We hope your Christmas is merry + bright, and thank you for reading along with me this year!
Most of the time, things around here don’t get too personal. I like to create a positive space where women can come for tips, tricks, and advice on how to style an outfit, beauty recommendations, and delicious recipes. Today I’d like to delve a little bit deeper into dealing with some tougher issues that don’t get talked about as much as they should.
